Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the three federal economic immigration programs under the Express Entry system. It is designed to attract foreign nationals who have Canadian work experience and wish to settle permanently in Canada.
To be eligible for the CEC, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
Work experience: You must have at least one year of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time experience) in a skilled occupation within the last three years. The work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A, or B occupation.
Language proficiency: You must demonstrate proficiency in English or French by taking an approved language test and achieving minimum scores in each language skill (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Education: There are no specific education requirements for the CEC. However, having a Canadian educational credential may improve your chances of being invited to apply for permanent residence.
Admissibility: You must meet the admissibility requirements for Canada, such as having no criminal record and passing a medical exam.
Once you meet the minimum requirements, you will be assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors. Candidates with the highest CRS scores are typically invited to apply for permanent residence through regular Express Entry draws.
Overall, the CEC is a popular option for foreign nationals who have already gained Canadian work experience and wish to immigrate to Canada permanently. It provides a pathway to permanent residence and eventual Canadian citizenship.
