Federal Skilled Worker Program
The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is one of the three federal economic immigration programs under the Express Entry system. It is designed to attract skilled tradespeople who can contribute to the Canadian economy.
To be eligible for the FSWP, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
Work experience: You must have at least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years. The work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A or B occupation.
Language proficiency: You must demonstrate proficiency in English or French by taking an approved language test and achieving minimum scores in each language skill (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Education: You must have a Canadian high school diploma or an educational credential equivalent to a Canadian diploma or degree.
Financial stability: You must demonstrate that you have enough funds to support yourself and your family members in Canada.
Admissibility: You must meet the admissibility requirements for Canada, such as having no criminal record and passing a medical exam.
Once you meet the minimum requirements, you will be assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors. Candidates with the highest CRS scores are typically invited to apply for permanent residence through regular Express Entry draws.
Overall, the FSWP is a popular option for skilled workers who wish to immigrate to Canada, as it provides a pathway to permanent residence and eventual Canadian citizenship.
